Still, you can’t help feeling a bit of a chill upon learning that notice of Steve Jobs’ death mistakingly hit the wires yesterday afternoon. The lengthy obituary was accidently “published” and was viewed by a number of users before being pulled. A Gawker tipster (see it here) was able to send off a copy to the gossip site.

Problem is, rumors of Jobs being in poor health have surfaced since his rather wan appearance at WWDC. A gaffe like this is a nightmare for Apple PR folks. 

But yes, we can happily report he is alive and well in Cupertino.

I have noticed that almost everywhere you go you need to have an ID card. I needed one for college. You need one for any gym membership. Many companies require you to have one. I am waiting for churches to start requiring one too.

I love looking at there plastic ID card printer systems. They are able to design the card, put information that they find important on the card and print it out in a matter of minutes. When I got my gym membership it was printed and handed to me before I had even finished filling out the paperwork. That just amazes me.

The biggest motorcycle I ever owned was 750cc. A Yamaha. Not the sort of bike you’d pay a motorcycle movers to shift across state (or across country) for you. No. Rather, it was a bulky, well used machine that went like a solid rocket. I rode half way up the island on it on at least one occasion. On that trip Rob and I traveled through the night. We were young and confident in those days. Now I would only move at night and would not have gone on a motorcycle. Even with a helmet and plenty of padded bike clothes, the jacket and gloves, I was cold. Just lucky that it was not raining. Well, we got there no trouble .And so I would always have moved it on my own, rather than using a good motorcycle mover to do the job for me.

My husband and I are about to embark on a new home improvement project. Our old wooden fence was looking worn and tattered. We have some damaged boards and the overall appearance is losing its charm. We are going to install a new vinyl fence in its place. This is quite the endeavor for me, because I have never done anything like this, but I know that having this new fence will improve the overall curb appeal of our home as well, so I’m excited about that. There’s nothing like doing the work yourself to feel proud of what you’ve accomplished. My husband is also a carpenter, so I feel confident we will do a great job.

Sometimes students are in need of money for their education purposes. In order to assist us in reviewing one of the courses in our master’s program I decided to video tape the proceedings. I set the camera up behind me and would let it record as the class progressed. Two nights later our study group would get together to review the videos. At first I thought there was something wrong with my camera as every video had a reflection coming off the back of my head. My classmates were quick to point out to me that my camera was ok, I just needed to stop hair loss in men. I would have rather had a faulty camera.

A couple years ago, Brenda just up and left. I felt so confused and heart broken, but at the same time, I felt like it was not over for good.
