When I first started teaching I knew that I would be getting some type of look to see if I had a criminal background or something like that. I had no idea the extent to what I had to go through for background checks in the district that hired me. Now, I think, what a great system to be so thorough. I tell parents over the years how extensive we check each of our staff members. That is something they all like to here. It is also comforting for me to know that I am not working next to some psycho either.
