Knowing how to do a proper thumb spica taping is a very important skill to learn. You never know when somebody will break or injure his or her thumb. The procedure is a little more complicated than just putting tape on the thumb. A person must tape certain areas of the hand, namely the wrist and the area just below the top joint of the thumb. After that part is taped, the thumb spica can be put on and taped down.
