Is equity release only for over 55s

Well to start answering this question, I must first start by correcting the common misconception with regard to equity release and this misconception is present in the very title of this blog post. Equity release is for those aged 55 and over, not the over 55s. I put the title for dramatics. Secondly, yes equity release is only for over 55s and it should only ever be for over 55s. Any one who tries to sell an equity release service, or labels it as something else to under 55s is mis selling the product so be wary of these illegitimate sellers and make sure you trust who you are getting equity release from.
