They are a part of the basic baking apparel and if one would like to bake a cake, one would need a couple of these items. A cake pan is a pan used for baking cakes. They are deep and wide so as to let the cake expand. They are usually made from metal or glass, although new versions are now made from non-stick silicone. They hold the cake as it cooks and provides for the shape that the cake will copy. They come in different sizes and figures such as small round one to big cartoon character shaped ones. If you plan on baking a lot of cakes or want to make a living out of them then having a set of various pans are needed.
