Child Psychology Careers: Guidance Counselor

A popular career choice among individuals who possess a Masters Degree in Child Psychology is that of school guidance counselor. This is indeed a good choice if you seek a position with regular weekday hours and don’t mind performing other duties in child guidance besides those relating to psychological and emotional needs. The typical school guidance counselor is indeed available to listen to children’s problems and make referrals to other psychologists, medical doctors, and social services when necessary. However, she will often spend a great deal of her time maintaining children’s grades or other school-related records. At the middle and high school levels, she also may advise students on decisions concerning college and careers.
