I explained to the parents in the beginning what my coaching practices were like. Parents were informed that if their children missed weekly practice, they were not the first players chosen to play in the Saturday game. Those that did come to practice twice a week were allowed to be the first on the field. I wanted to make sure that those who showed up were rewarded but I also did not want to severely penalize any player. Most of my players came to all of the practices. That’s why all of the soccer practice drills need to be well planned and though out.
