I would like some information

I am trying to figure out the difference between English bridles and American western bridles. I have been trying to look on the net for someone that can tell me the difference but so far all am finding is sales sites. If there is anyone out there that can explain the difference to me I would appreciate it very much. I know that steeple chase and shows seem to prefer the English tack but I can’t tell what the major difference in the bridles are so if you know contact me. I am sure there must be something that makes each kind unique.
