Another Price Cut For The Kindle 2

Amazon has just clipped another $40 of the price of the Kindle 2 e-book reader. It’s the second price reduction since the launch in February 2009 and means the K2 is now available for “just” $259. Not a low price perhaps, but a lot better than the $359 price at launch. Amazon say that increased production and sales volume allows them to pass economies of scale onto their end users. The fact that the kindle reader family is experiencing ever more fierce competition from its competitor is probably a factor also of course. The large format Kindle DX price remains unchanged at $489.
