Competition in the cable and satellite TV industry continues to increase. While 20 years ago, cable TV held a monopoly when it comes to pay television, today some consumers have multiple options. Of course for more than a decade, there have been the satellite TV companies, Dish Network and Direct TV. Lately however there are new kids on the block, the phone company. Massive corporations Verizon and AT&T are seeing that they must have triple play bundles in order to compete with cable TV companies like Time Warner. The good thing is that competition lowers prices for the consumer, and makes cable TV cheaper overall.
