The newly developed SlimChip mobile broadband modem has turned out ground breaking performances for 3G mobile broadband speed.
The SlimChip modem is produced by InterDigital (one of only 3 companies so far to develop a "category 8 solution" for mobile broadband) and can achieve download speeds of 10Mbps, with upload speeds of 5.7mbps. Other category 8 modems can deliver 3G broadband speeds of 7.2Mbps, somewhat slower than the SlimChip.
The SlimChip is also a breakthrough in terms of architecture - with its "slim" moders design it’s expected to be easy and cost effective to manufacture, as well as easy to use.
