White Balancing and Corel PHOTO-PAINT X4

With Corel PHOTO-PAINT, you have a number of options when it comes to white balancing your images. My preferred method is to do so on location, if possible. The first thing you want to do is to buy a white cards, such as the ones from Kodak. Another option is to create your own, using some white paper stock and some stiff cardboard. If you choose this option, it’s important to realize that not all paper stocks are created in the same way, so I recommend that you experiment with people’s skin tones. Some papers will make your subject look blue, others will create a red cast. Still, if you’re not satified with the results of white balancing on location, you can use Corel PHOTO-PAINT to do so after the fact in the Image Adjustment Lab.
